They were doing what they do and eventually started talking about Hip-Hop and its state, where it's going and what can we do...

Eventually the question pops up. So I ask Johnny Ill... "How much do you charge an hour?", and Johnny just looks at me with this face like I didnt know what I was talking about and said "Nothing man! We work on some other shit and see what happens, I make the beats, you do the rappin!"

And ever since the BoomBap Cats were born... since then they have been building, battling, experimenting, and have met a whole slew of talented cats in their home town of Montreal. They've established a reputation of quality combined with fact and don't need to pretend to lay down good tracks.
